RSR client, Steve Weatherford signed with the New York Jets to be their punter for the 2009 season. Steve comes to the Jets from the Jacksonville Jaguars where he was the punter last season. Steve has been in the NFL for three seasons, playing in 46 games for New Orleans, Kansas City and Jacksonville. In his career, he has a gross average of 43.4 yards on 199 punts and a net average of 38.4 yards per punt.

Steve originally signed with New Orleans as an undrafted rookie free agent and played in 39 games for the Saints. Last season he punted for the Kansas City Chiefs prior to signing with the Jaguars.

Steve looks forward to solidifying the punting position for the Jets.
