Malik Hall was hired June 2018, as the new Bates College Head Football Coach. He previously served for three seasons as the Defensive Line Coach for University of Pennsylvania. The Bates job, is Malik’s first Head Coaching job. Malik started his coaching career at Central Connecticut in 2004, serving as the Defensive Line Coach. He then had short stints at Hofstra, Fordham, Wager and UMass. During his coaching career, Malik has coached, defensive lineman, as well as linebackers. While at Wagner he served as the Defensive Coordinator. Malik enters Bates College with experience from coaching multiple positions at colleges on all different levels.

Malik grew up in Detroit, Michigan and played defensive line at Vermilion Community College in Northern Minnesota. He then played his final two years of college ball at the University of Massachusetts. Malik is married to his wife Ayesha and they have three children.
